About

Sera Holland (b. 1981, Johannesburg, South Africa) is a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Cape Town, known for her thick impasto oil paintings, in particular Sera's distinctive palette scallops which are crafted from leftover oil paint, and her textural ceramics. Her work explores the interplay of abstraction and realism, and is deeply inspired by the natural beauty of the South African landscape, which she uses to explore themes of colour and texture, often with a sense of playfulness.
